I am a resource for people who want to
close the gap between where they are and
where they want to be. I help people
achieve their own definition of success
and full potential whether that be in
sports, business, or personal aspects of
their lives.
I use a
collaborative and interactive problem
solving approach in working with
individuals experiencing problematic
situations as well as those who may be
having problems with (among others):
- Reaching full potential
- Life Transitions
- Personal/Work Relationships
- Career Change/Job Loss
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Divorce/Separation
- Social Anxiety and Phobias
- Stress
I am trained in clinical
hypnosis. and have used imagery
and hypnosis successfully for a variety of
concerns: phobias, stress reduction,
presentation anxiety among them.
Imagery, hypnosis and thinking
style refinement are being used by
Olympic athletes with great results
but you don't need to be an Olympian to
benefit. Sport
psychology
may improve your golf or
tennis game, your running time,
your swimming performance. The
psychological component of sports
performance is significant and can be
addressed in a relatively brief time. I
will be glad to provide more information
about my services in this arena.
I work with job, workplace, and career
issues. This may mean dealing with
career change, choice, or job loss. I find
that many adults are facing unforeseen
career challenges that may lead them to
reassess their career paths and options. I
have worked with hundreds of Fortune 500
company employees as well as students and
independent business people who are in the
career assessment or transition process. I
also offer proven resume and job search
strategies.
I am trained in
a procedure (EMDR) that can quickly
reduce the negative emotional experiences
associated with upsetting events of the
past whether the events be major traumas
(rape, auto accident) or smaller
emotionally disturbing events (intense
embarrassment, performance anxiety,
problems accepting criticism or feedback).
Many professionals benefit from
performance coaching. An analysis
of your personal styles of thought and
interaction can often boost personal
performance and effectiveness .
As a cancer survivor, I have an
appreciation for the psychological issues
that may face patients (or their families)
experiencing serious illness and its
treatment. I will work closely with
patient's physicians to insure effective
adjunct care. A background of comparative
religious studies sensitizes me to
spiritual and existential issues (though I
don't push an agenda).
I received my Doctorate from the
University of Texas at Austin. My clinical
internship was completed at The University
of Virginia. My undergraduate degree is
from the University of Virginia. I
continually update and refine my
professional knowledge and skills through
numerous professional education
programs.
